About JC,
I was first introduced to abstract art… in the hospital.
My senior year of high school was spent between dialysis, and waiting for a kidney transplant. Chronic illness when you’re young and already a wheelchair user is no picnic, and to keep myself in the moment, I started painting. When I got better, painting, like a hundred other things I did for self-care, kind of got deleted.
…until almost ten years later, my transplant began to fail. And I had a couple of mini-strokes, and became color blind. Now that I’m on the transplant list again, I value the calming, meditative space art creates in me. Art is an expression of emotions in all their intensity - and it’s my intention to promote peace and creativity through color and to ignite your meditative imagination.
